Beatport Introduces Greenroom to Help Artists and Labels Manage Their Digital Presence

July 22, 2026 by Alveda Music
Fresh News, Industry, Tips
beatport

Beatport has launched Greenroom for Artists & Labels, a new free platform designed to give artists, labels, managers, and music teams greater control over their profiles, catalogs, analytics, and events on the platform.

The service is available to artists and labels whose music is already live on Beatport. It provides a centralized dashboard where users can update profile information, review performance data, manage team access, and promote events listed through Beatport Tickets.

Profile management and team tools

Through Greenroom, artists and labels can claim their official Beatport pages and keep their information current. Available profile tools include the ability to update biographies, replace profile images, add label logos, and manage other key details.

Users can also invite team members and assign different access permissions, making it easier for managers, label staff, and collaborators to work together on a profile.

The platform also gives users access to catalog information, including products available for download or streaming on Beatport.

Access to audience and performance data

One of the main features of Greenroom is its analytics dashboard. Artists and labels can view official data related to how DJs interact with their music, including download activity, DJ followers, and DJ streams.

These insights are intended to help users better understand catalog performance and identify how their releases are connecting with Beatport’s DJ audience.

Promote events through Beatport Tickets

Greenroom also connects artist and label profiles with Beatport Tickets. Users can add upcoming events to their Beatport pages, allowing followers and visitors to discover live performances alongside the artist’s latest releases and profile information.

Beatport Chief Commercial Officer Alex Branson said the launch is part of the company’s effort to become a stronger marketing partner for artists and labels.

According to Branson, Greenroom allows users to make better use of their profiles, connect with DJ followers, highlight live events, and gain insight into how DJs engage with their music.

How to get started

Artists and labels can access Greenroom by logging in with their Beatport.com account. They must then select whether they are claiming an artist or label profile and submit their request for approval.

Once the claim has been approved, users can begin managing their profile, viewing analytics, inviting team members, and adding Beatport Tickets events.

With Greenroom, Beatport is offering artists and labels a single place to manage their presence on the platform and gain a clearer understanding of their audience and catalog performance.

TIDAL Moves to Demonitize AI Music: A Turning Point for Streaming and Electronic Music Culture

June 29, 2026 by Alveda Music
Industry

The relationship between AI-generated music and streaming platforms just took a sharp turn. As of late June 2026, TIDAL has officially announced a policy that removes monetization from fully AI-generated tracks, marking one of the strongest industry stances yet against the rise of “AI slop” in music streaming.

For EDM producers, digital artists, and electronic music fans, this move could reshape how AI tools are used, shared, and valued across the ecosystem.

TIDAL’s New AI Music Policy Explained

TIDAL’s updated policy allows AI-generated music on the platform, but introduces strict limitations on how it is treated financially and algorithmically.

According to the company’s official guidelines, AI-generated music is defined as tracks that are fully created using generative AI systems. These tracks will still be allowed on the platform—but with major restrictions.

Starting July 15, 2026, TIDAL will:

  • Label tracks identified as fully AI-generated
  • Prevent those tracks from earning royalties
  • Expand enforcement as detection tools improve
  • Remove or block AI content linked to impersonation or fraud

In TIDAL’s words, royalties are being reserved for “organic creativity”—music directly written, performed, and produced by humans.

Why TIDAL Is Doing This

The rise of AI music generators like Suno-style tools has flooded streaming platforms with large volumes of automated content. Much of it is low-effort, mass-produced, and designed to game algorithms rather than contribute artistically.

TIDAL says the goal is to protect:

  • Human artists’ income streams
  • Listener trust in recommendations
  • Platform integrity against fraud and impersonation

As TIDAL EVP Tony Gervino put it, the policy is about protecting “organic creativity” and ensuring artists can still build genuine connections with fans.

The Bigger Industry Context

TIDAL isn’t acting alone.

Across the streaming world, platforms are scrambling to respond to the explosion of AI-generated tracks:

  • Deezer has implemented AI detection systems and flags synthetic music
  • Spotify has introduced labeling systems and restrictions on AI-only profiles
  • YouTube Music and others are also experimenting with transparency tools

The broader concern is not just creativity—but economics. AI-generated uploads are often designed to exploit streaming payouts, potentially diluting royalties for real artists.

Academic research also suggests that AI music is increasingly used in “spam-like” production cycles where tracks are mass-uploaded and optimized for algorithmic exposure rather than artistic intent.

What This Means for EDM and Producers

For the EDM and electronic music world, this policy could have mixed but important implications.

1. Human Producers Gain More Value

By cutting monetization for fully AI-generated tracks, TIDAL is effectively reinforcing the value of human-made production—something EDM culture has always been rooted in, from DJ performance to sound design experimentation.

2. AI Tools Are Not Banned—But Reframed

AI is still allowed as a creative tool. The distinction is whether the final output is fully AI-generated vs. human-directed production.

That means AI-assisted synthesis, sound design, and ideation may still be part of workflows—but “prompt-only” AI tracks lose financial viability.

3. A Shift in Release Strategy May Follow

Artists experimenting with AI-only releases may begin:

  • Moving to self-hosted platforms
  • Using hybrid human-AI workflows
  • Or explicitly disclosing AI involvement for transparency

The Debate: Innovation vs. Control

Not everyone agrees with TIDAL’s approach.

Critics argue:

  • AI music is still creativity, even if assisted
  • Detection systems may incorrectly flag human work
  • Monetization bans could slow innovation in digital music production

Supporters counter that:

  • Streaming royalties should prioritize human labor
  • AI spam threatens discovery systems
  • Fraudulent streaming activity is already a growing problem

This tension is likely to define the next phase of music distribution as generative AI becomes more advanced.

Final Thoughts

TIDAL’s decision is not a ban on AI music—but it is a clear economic boundary.

AI-generated tracks can still exist, still be heard, and still spread across playlists. But they will no longer directly participate in the royalty economy—at least on TIDAL.

For EDM producers and digital artists, this signals a broader shift: the industry is starting to define what counts as “creative labor” in an era where machines can produce entire tracks in seconds.

And that definition is only going to become more important from here.

Juno Download Announces Shutdown: What It Means for the Electronic Music Industry

June 4, 2026 by Alveda Music
Industry
download store, Juno Download, music downloads, music store

One of electronic music’s most established digital download platforms, Juno Download, has officially announced that it is shutting down after nearly two decades of operation.

Visitors to the platform are now greeted with a farewell message confirming the closure, marking the end of a long-standing era in digital music retail. The statement thanks artists, labels, and fans for their support over the years and directs users toward alternative platforms such as Beatport, Traxsource, Mixupload, and Volumo.

For independent labels like Alveda Music, this development reflects a broader shift that has been unfolding across the music industry for several years.

A Changing Landscape for Digital Music

Juno Download launched in 2006 during a pivotal moment in electronic music history, when digital downloads were rapidly becoming the dominant format for DJs and collectors.

Alongside other key platforms, it helped shape how underground music was discovered, purchased, and distributed globally. For many independent labels, it served as an important outlet for reaching DJs and curators beyond physical distribution channels.

However, over time, the rise of streaming platforms and direct-to-fan ecosystems has significantly reshaped how audiences consume music.

Today, listeners are increasingly moving toward subscription-based streaming services, while artists and labels are building more direct relationships with their audiences through platforms such as Bandcamp and social media-driven releases.

What This Means for Independent Labels

The closure of Juno Download highlights an important transition point for the independent music community.

While digital download stores remain relevant in DJ culture, particularly for performance and collection-based listening, their overall role in the wider music economy has diminished.

For labels like Alveda Music, this shift reinforces the importance of a diversified release strategy that includes:

  • Streaming platforms for global audience reach
  • Direct-to-fan channels for community building and support
  • Selective distribution on remaining specialist download stores
  • Strong digital branding and long-term catalog positioning

Rather than signaling a decline in electronic music consumption, this change reflects an evolution in how music is accessed and valued.

The End of One Chapter, the Start of Another

Juno Download’s shutdown is more than the closure of a platform—it is another milestone in the ongoing transformation of the electronic music industry.

As the landscape continues to evolve, independent labels, artists, and communities are adapting to new models of discovery and distribution.

At Alveda Music, we remain committed to supporting artists and releasing music across modern platforms that best serve both creative expression and audience reach.

The tools may change, but the music continues to move forward.

How to Create and Promote a Beatport Chart (Step-by-Step Guide)

June 2, 2026 by Alveda Music
Tips
beatport, promote, promotion

Creating a Beatport Chart is one of the simplest and most effective ways to promote your tracks, build visibility, and demonstrate industry credibility. Below is a clear, step-by-step guide—plus practical promotion strategies—to help you make your chart actually work for your release strategy.

How to Create a Beatport Chart

1. Log into Beatport

You’ll need a Beatport account connected to your Beatport DJ profile or label/artist page.

If you don’t have one, create a free account and make sure your artist profile is claimed and properly set up.

2. Go to “My Beatport”

Once logged in:

  • Click your profile icon
  • Select My Beatport
  • Find the Charts section in the menu
  • Click Create Chart

3. Add a Title, Description, and Cover Image

Presentation matters—well-designed charts tend to perform better.

Tips:

  • Title: Include your artist name and a theme (e.g., “Deep Grooves by DJ Solaris”)
  • Description: Add 1–2 sentences describing the vibe or purpose (e.g., “Tracks that inspired my latest release on XYZ Records.”)
  • Cover Image: Use a clean, professional square image. Artist photos or release artwork usually work best.

4. Select Your Tracks (10–20 Tracks)

Beatport requires a minimum of 10 tracks.

You can include:

  • Your own new release(s)
  • Tracks from artists you admire
  • Influences or complementary records

Tip: Place your own track at #1 for maximum visibility.

5. Publish Your Chart

Once everything is ready, click Publish.

Your chart will appear:

  • On your Beatport profile
  • In Beatport’s Charts section
  • On your Beatport artist page under “Charts”

How to Promote Your Beatport Chart

Creating the chart is only the first step—promotion is what drives traffic, streams, and sales.

1. Share Across Social Media

Promote your chart link across all major platforms:

  • Instagram Stories (use link sticker)
  • Facebook and Threads
  • TikTok (e.g., “Music I’m playing this month”)
  • X (Twitter)

Tip: Create short video clips mixing or previewing a few tracks from your chart.

2. Add It to Your Link-in-Bio

Add your chart to tools like Linktree, Beacons, or your personal website.

Example button:
“Beatport Chart – My Top Tracks of the Month”

3. Send It to Your Email List

If you have a fanbase or DJ promo list, send a short update:

  • Announce your new release
  • Mention it’s featured in your curated chart
  • Invite subscribers to check it out

4. Tag Other Artists

When sharing your chart, tag the producers included in it.

Many will reshare your post, giving you immediate exposure to their audience.

5. Share in DJ Communities

Post your chart in relevant communities such as:

  • Discord DJ servers
  • Facebook DJ groups
  • Reddit communities (e.g., r/Beatmatch, r/Techno, where appropriate)
  • WhatsApp DJ networks

6. Use It in Press Kits

Blogs, promoters, and bookers value curated content.

Include your Beatport chart in your Electronic Press Kit (EPK) as:

  • Social proof of taste and curation
  • Supporting content for press features
  • Promotional material for shows and releases

Pro Tips to Make Your Chart Perform Better

  • Release a chart on the same day as your track drop
This boosts visibility and helps drive immediate traffic.
  • Create one chart per month
Consistency improves algorithmic visibility and strengthens your artist presence.
  • Use themed concepts people can connect with:
    • “Festival Weapons 2025”
    • “Minimal Tech House Essentials”
    • “Tracks I Played at XYZ Club”
  • Collaborate with another DJ
Shared charts double exposure by tapping into both audiences.

Supported by Dance Music Giants: The Rise of Takahiro Yoshihira

May 31, 2026 by Alveda Music
Interviews

Takahiro Yoshihira began his musical journey at the age of 15, inspired by the transformative power of music. Since then, he has steadily established himself as one of Japan’s most exciting electronic music exports, earning support from some of the industry’s biggest names, including David Guetta, Timmy Trumpet, Don Diablo, R3HAB, KSHMR, Showtek, and many more.

Known for blending heavy basslines, euphoric melodies, and high-energy productions, Takahiro has built a reputation across Mainstage, Trance, Melodic House & Techno, and more recently, Acid Trance. His tracks regularly chart on Beatport, while collaborations with artists such as C. Todd Nielsen have helped him reach audiences worldwide.

Having been named a Top 10 Wildcard Finalist in DJ Mag’s Miller SoundClash competition and performed in front of thousands during the Club Linx DJ Tour in China, Takahiro continues to push his sound forward with every release. We caught up with him to discuss his journey, studio setup, future plans, and advice for the next generation of producers.

How did you begin with music and DJing?

I started my journey in music and DJing when I was 15 years old. From the moment I discovered electronic dance music, I was fascinated by its energy and the way it could bring people together.

I spent countless hours listening to tracks, studying different artists, and learning the fundamentals of DJing. As my passion grew, I practiced every day, developing my own style and understanding how to create an emotional connection with an audience through music.

What started as a hobby quickly became a lifelong dedication. Since then, I have continued to evolve as an artist, always striving to create memorable experiences and share my love for music with people around the world.

Which labels and artists have you worked with throughout your career?

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of international artists and release music on respected labels across the electronic music scene.

Some of the labels I’ve worked with include Reason II Rise Music, DRAGON X, Exetra Records, Acid Dolphin, Dragon Records, Harmor Records, Alveda Music, Housesession Records, Tiger Records, Moon Records, Ensis Records, Vox Records, Pyro Records, Cubik Recordings, JANGO Music, Digital Empire Records, Kingside Recordings, Crystalized Records, and many others.

I’ve also collaborated with talented artists from around the world, including Kid Massive, HunterSynth, C. Todd Nielsen, Elle Vee, K.S.Y., Tali Rush, Daniel Chord, Mark Vox, Francesco Sparacello, Daxsen, Ricardo Reyna, Bodhi Jones, Simon Jackman, Mike Bello, MEIRLIN, Tai Ikezawa, Tommy Haks, Diego Antoine, and many more.

Every collaboration has helped shape my sound while allowing me to build valuable relationships across different countries, genres, and cultures.

Any new releases on the horizon?

Yes! I have some very exciting things in the works.

This year, I’m preparing to release three major projects that I believe will surprise a lot of people. While I can’t reveal all the details yet, these releases represent some of my most ambitious work to date and feature exciting collaborations alongside a fresh creative direction.

A lot of passion and dedication has gone into these projects, and I’m looking forward to sharing them with the world. All I can say for now is: stay tuned—there are three big releases coming this year.

Tell us about your studio setup.

My studio is built around a setup that combines reliability, sound quality, and creative flexibility.

I produce on a MacBook Pro running Logic Pro as my primary DAW. For audio conversion and monitoring, I use the Apogee Symphony Desktop, which provides exceptional clarity and detail throughout the production process.

My monitoring system includes Yamaha HS5 and Genelec 8341A studio monitors, allowing me to reference my mixes from different perspectives and ensure they translate well across various listening environments.

For MIDI control and composition, I use a Studiologic SL88 MK2. I also use an Apple Studio Display for workflow efficiency and OYAIDE cables throughout the studio to maintain a clean and reliable signal path.

Ultimately, my setup is designed to help me focus on creating powerful, emotional, and high-quality electronic music.

You’ve received support from some of the industry’s biggest names. What does that mean to you?

I’ve been fortunate to receive support from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including David Guetta, KSHMR, Blasterjaxx, Timmy Trumpet, Dannic, Ummet Ozcan, Don Diablo, Showtek, R3HAB, Mariana BO, MEDUZA, YVES V, Knife Party, Fedde Le Grand, and DJs from Mars.

Receiving support from these internationally recognized artists has been a huge honor. Their support has helped my music reach audiences around the world and continues to motivate me to push my sound to the next level.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My days usually revolve around music and creativity.

I like to start by checking emails, listening to new releases, and staying up to date with developments in the electronic music scene. A large part of my day is spent in the studio working on productions, developing new ideas, refining tracks, and experimenting with sounds.

I also dedicate time to researching industry trends, connecting with artists and labels, and planning future projects. When I’m away from the studio, I enjoy recharging and finding inspiration in everyday life.

No matter how busy the day gets, music remains at the center of everything I do.

What sets DJing apart from other performing arts?

What makes DJing unique is the direct connection between the artist and the audience in real time.

Unlike many other performing arts, a DJ can read the energy of the crowd and instantly adapt the music to create a shared experience. DJing is about storytelling, emotion, and understanding the atmosphere of the moment.

Another unique aspect is its ability to unite people from different backgrounds, cultures, and languages through a universal language: music. For me, DJing is where technical skill, creativity, and human connection meet.

How has your musical taste evolved over the years?

My musical journey has evolved significantly over time.

When I first discovered electronic music, I was drawn to the energy of Big Room and House Music. As I explored further, I became fascinated by Progressive House and its ability to tell stories through atmosphere and progression.

I then discovered Trance and Psychedelic music, which introduced me to hypnotic melodies, immersive soundscapes, and deeper emotional expression.

Today, my primary focus is Acid Trance—a genre that perfectly combines powerful energy, hypnotic grooves, emotional depth, and the iconic acid sound that continues to inspire me.

Looking back, every genre I embraced along the way contributed to the artist I am today.

What has been your favorite DJing experience so far?

One of the most memorable experiences of my career was performing in China during the Club Linx DJ Tour, with shows in Hangzhou and Shanghai.

It was my first time performing at a truly large-scale event in front of more than 4,000 people. Walking onto the stage and seeing thousands of people gathered together was an unforgettable moment.

What made the experience truly special was the connection with the audience. Seeing people react to the music and celebrate together reminded me why I fell in love with DJing in the first place.

That tour remains one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences of my career.

What has been your biggest challenge as a DJ and producer?

One of the biggest challenges has been staying true to my artistic vision while continuing to evolve in an ever-changing music industry.

Electronic music trends move quickly, and there is always pressure to follow what’s popular. However, I’ve learned that long-term success comes from developing your own identity rather than simply chasing trends.

Another challenge is maintaining consistency. Building a career in music requires patience, discipline, and perseverance. Every release, performance, and collaboration is the result of years of dedication and continuous improvement.

Those challenges have ultimately helped me grow both creatively and personally.

What are your dreams and plans for the future?

My biggest goal is to continue growing as both a DJ and producer while sharing my music with audiences around the world.

I want to keep pushing the boundaries of my sound, especially within Acid Trance, and create music that leaves a lasting impact on listeners. One of my dreams is to release records that become timeless anthems and inspire future generations of artists and fans.

I also hope to perform at some of the world’s most iconic festivals and venues, continue touring internationally, and collaborate with talented artists from different backgrounds.

Most importantly, I want to keep enjoying the journey and creating music that people will remember long after the music stops.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy exploring new music, discovering emerging artists, and staying connected to the latest developments in electronic music.

I also love traveling. Experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and exploring new places often gives me fresh inspiration for my productions and performances.

Beyond music, I value time to recharge, spend time with friends, enjoy good food, and maintain a healthy balance between creativity and everyday life.

What advice would you give to aspiring DJs and producers?

Enter this industry with passion, but also with a realistic understanding of how challenging it can be.

The music industry is extremely competitive, and success requires much more than talent alone. It takes years of dedication, consistency, patience, and resilience.

There are no shortcuts. No secret strategy, no magic plugin, and no overnight success story can replace years of hard work.

I also believe that relationships are just as important as technical skills. Build genuine connections with artists, labels, and industry professionals. Collaborate, support each other, and focus on creating long-term professional relationships based on trust and respect.

Most importantly, be patient. There will be setbacks, rejections, and moments of doubt. What separates those who succeed from those who quit is the ability to keep moving forward despite the challenges.

Music is not a sprint—it’s a marathon. If you truly love what you do, stay persistent, keep learning, and trust the process. That’s how lasting careers are built.

SongDistro, a Greece-based music distribution platform, delivers professional, affordable distribution to Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Amazon, Tidal and 100+ stores. Choose Partner (€14.99 one-time) for unlimited releases and 85% royalties forever, or Partner Pro (€24.99/year) for unlimited releases and 100% royalties, both with royalty splits.

SongDistro — a Greek-born music distribution platform with global reach
If you’re an artist, band, or label looking for a no-nonsense way to get your music out there, SongDistro from Greece is a refreshingly straightforward option. It’s built for creators who want to focus on the music and not wrestle with complicated distribution contracts or hidden fees. The vibe is practical and artist-friendly — a small team with big ambitions to help creators go from a local scene to playlists around the world.

Partner — €14.99 (one-time setup)
The Partner plan is perfect if you want a single, upfront cost and no recurring surprises. For a one-time setup fee of €14.99 you get unlimited artists, unlimited releases and unlimited music distribution. That’s right — upload as much as you want without paying per release. You’ll keep 85% of received royalties forever, and the platform supports royalty splits so collaborations and band arrangements are handled cleanly. If you prefer paying once and moving on, this plan gives you lifetime access to distribution with a healthy share of your earnings staying in your pocket.

Partner Pro — €24.99 per year (renewed annually)
For creators looking for an ongoing, fully-maximized revenue setup, Partner Pro is the upgrade. At €24.99 per year (renewed annually), you still get unlimited artists, releases and distribution, but you keep 100% of received royalties — no cut taken by the platform. Royalty splits are included here too, so whether you have co-writers, producers, or a group split, SongDistro handles the math. This plan is ideal for active artists or small labels who release regularly and want to maximize income while keeping distribution hassle-free.

Why SongDistro’s approach works for artists
What makes SongDistro stand out is how simple the value proposition is: transparent pricing, unlimited uploads, and easy royalty handling. Whether you pick the one-time Partner plan or opt for the annual Partner Pro, you’re choosing a distribution path that prioritizes artist control. The inclusion of royalty splits is crucial for modern collaborations, and keeping a high percentage (or all) of received royalties ensures creators aren’t left wondering where their earnings went. Plus, being based in Greece gives SongDistro a unique perspective — they understand independent scenes and international connections, which helps them serve both local talent and artists aiming for global audiences.

From local playlists to global streams
At the end of the day, distribution is about reach, and SongDistro delivers that without forcing you through a maze of contract terms and surprise fees. Whether you’re just starting out and want the one-off Partner setup, or you’re releasing frequently and prefer Partner Pro’s 100% royalties, the platform’s options are designed to grow with your career. If you’ve ever wanted a straightforward way to take your music from Greece (or anywhere) to Spotify, YouTube Music and the rest of the streaming world, SongDistro makes it genuinely doable — fast, affordable, and artist-first.
